2016 - E5570 seconds hard drive

Recently I received my E5570 Latitude.

Currently equiped with a PCE ssd, so the 2.5' slot is empty.
I would like to add a second disk 2.5' but need the bracket and cable to install it.
What are the partnumbers for this?

Also will it fit?
As the PCE ssd go's over the 2.5" bay.

Have you already found an answer to your question?

Some days ago the sales support (phone) told me that it is possible to install a pci ssd card and a sata hdd at the same time. Now they wrote the opposite on the chat. :emotion-7:

Well no.physically a 2.5" drive will prevent a M.2 stick to be installed.
So I will try for an mSata or a M.2 adapter so the second drive go's underneath the other one.

But they gave me an offer for a bracket and cable, 20 euro's. Fine with that.
BUT the charge me 42,40 as OUT OF WARRANTY REPAIR fee.

I just order parts, there is nothing broken!!!

I reply within 30 minutes to their mails and never get a response...
Initial ticket took them 4 days to reply, with a question that could be answered by my original ticket.
Chat is ALWAY down in the netherlands.

Probably this will be my first and last Dell laptop ever

I would like to know if an msata SSD could be put in the WWAN port (this can be done of some of the latitude models, put Dell doesn't officially support it and never say which ones it works on)

Unless the manual clearly states that the socket supports mSATA, no - it will not work.  Slots marked WWAN are for WWAN cards only.

Nah, not true. I currently have a Latitude E6540 with a working msata ssd in the wwan port. No mention of this being possible in the manual.

I did however find in the E5570 owners manual a list of the following onboard sata drives:

SATA-0

SATA-1

SATA-2

M.2 PCIe SSD-0

Im guessing 1 is for the normal 2.5" drive, 1 is for the PCIe drive, 1 is for the CD drive, and maybe one for the wwan port? I'm hoping someone has a e5570 and an msata drive that wants to test it out and post their findings.

Hello M.Koers

have you tried to put HDD underneath SDD in E5570 laptop? Does it work?

I know this is a lot later that the inital question, but I thought it might help people like pasach - no you can't get the 2.5" under the m.2 in a E5570 or E5470 (just checked).

Dear Dell

Our company ordered some E5570 notebooks, with the smaller 128G SSD-s. Then ordered from other distributor some 2'5 inch SSD-s

We would like to buy the necessary HDD cables (and brackets).

E-Bay parts/ordering not allowed..

Can you help up get the cables?

Thanks.
