Dell XPS 15 9550 - Dell Wireless 1830 802.11ac - Hosted network supported : No - cannot share Ethernet connection over WiFi

So basically - as the subject says -

Having a brand new Dell XPS 15 9550

with most recent Dell Wireless 1830 802.11ac drivers

cmd command "netsh wlan show drivers"

shows that current driver does not support hosted network,

meaning, that i am unable, for example, to share my ethernet internet connection Over wifi to other devices - i am unable to make my laptop a hotspot.

Which is ridiculous in 2016 and for a laptop of this level and is basically a prerequisite to be Windows 10 approved.

So my question is DELL, what the ***? When do we get normal drivers?

Anybody has the same issue - knows the workaround? Thanks.

I could not have expected that 2000$ laptop would not be able to do that. this is soul crushing.

Yes, this needs to be fixed. Top of the line computers need this to operate. This is my workstation, it faces a vast array of strange situations and I need it to be able to handle them. Not being able to share my wireless internet connection is a basic function that is lacking.

Same problem for me with my XPS 15 9550. The driver installed is the 1.566.0.0 version and the "hosted network" feature isn't available. :(
