Dell XPS 8300

Hello I have looked at YouTube tutorials where people are struggling to release the cmos 3 V battery.. I have tried lifting the piece on top of the battery up. I then tried pushing the part of the clasp, outside, and not over the battery, down. It is not the clasp in the manual or at least it does not show what to do. All it says is to push the retainer away from the battery and it pops out. I did this but as it is the positive piece of continuity I did not want to push too hard. I am leery of prying against the board also. Is there a trick, method or  "way to do this"? TY Peter

Thanks Bev, but mine has a coil or spring similar to a little clothespin wire. You are supped to push it away from the battery and the cell pops out. I did not want to push the wrong part as this is a functional part.

I have not found a picture of it on the web and have looked everywhere. Asap, I  will get a photo of it.
