Dell Inspiron 5559

Hi,

My new Inspiron 5559 suddenly freezes and I can do nothing. I have to power down and get it back again. In between the screen blanks too.

I purchased a new one just one month back.

Start with the Dell diagnostics -- F12 at powerup.

Hi ANURAAGMEHTA,

What is the current OS installed on the system? What applications are you using when the system freezes? Once frozen, does it resume by itself after few minutes or do you manually restart the system on every instance? Are you using the original Dell power adapter? Does this happen with or without the adapter connected?

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. Also, run an extended test on the memory modules and HDD.

If the diagnostics do not encounter any errors, then:

Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/29zJPne- restart the system and check.

Check in safe mode - http://bit.ly/1LHcO2c

Create a local admin account and check - http://bit.ly/1JoFhcw

Run a stress test via Support Assist - http://dell.to/1NEc1Y4

If the issue is unresolved, then restart the system and press f2 to enter BIOS - leave the system in BIOS with the adapter plugged in for as long as possible and check if the system freezes while in BIOS - you would notice there is a system clock ticking in BIOS - if the system freezes, then the clock would have frozen as well.

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private conversation with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.

Let us know if you have any other queries.

Dear Sir

Please find below my comments.

I did the BIOS setup including memory and it showed there are no errors.

1) I use Windows 10
2) System freezes mainly when I use internet ( skype ) . When it freezes my
internet connection gets lost and I have to wait for 10 mins for restarting
router.
3) After freezes , I have to manually start do hard reset.
4) I am using original dell charger ( since i purchased one month back only
my new laptop).

I have been having the same problems with my Inspiron 5559 since it was purchased in January.   Have called multiple times, have reset the computer to factory settings, have given control to HelpDesk support to fix.  Called today and was unable to get anyone that knows how to fix this problem.  This happens most often when my computer hibernates.  Was told today that I would have to pay to have this fixed because it was software/hardware related????  I just both this computer, its still under warranty.  I need solutions for this problem that don't require 6 months of calls to the help desk.
