I tried to upgrade my bios but it failed...

I tried to upgrade my bios to version A34 on my Dell Latitude E6400 but it failed. Now my computer will not boot at all. I have tried F2, F8 and F10 and I have tried reinstalling windows with my flash drive but none of these have worked. Is there anything else I can try?

I suggest also run the diagnostic tool on the system.

1. Power off the computer

2. Power on the computer, quickly start tapping the F12 key continuously. You should be in diagnostic screen, run full tests as well. Report back any error codes.

Lastly, you might be able to downgrade the BIOS. You'll have to download the BIOS file from another computer, and then onto a USB flash drive. Please click on the link below.

Please list the system's version of windows. Windows 10, 7, Vista or XP ? I'm assuming you're able to power on the system but not able to boot into windows nor into the BIOS? Correct ?

I like to suggest you power off the computer, remove AC adapter, and then remove battery. Press the Power On button for about 15 seconds then release. Replace the battery, adapter, and then power on the system. Hopefully the computer start normally. If it doesn't work then I suggest you try same steps again but instead of power off, try removing the battery and adapter with power on.

It's Windows 7 and yeah, you're correct, it powers on and gets to the dell screen but that's about as good as it gets. If I press f2 or f12 it says loading one time bit but then I get the above message. I've tried every combination with/without battery/power. I've tried everything you've said, I've even tried all with and without the internal battery but still no joy. I think it's well and truly bricked

Neither f12 not f2 are doing anything.
