Recovery Image Of Ubuntu 14.04 For Dell Xps 13

I bough the dell xps 13 9350, which came installed with windows 10. I think i made the wrong choice.

Now i have installed ubuntu 14.040 but i'm facing many issues.

I tried to find the Recovery image, so that i can install it on my pc.

Does anyone have idea from where to get the image, i have found m800 image. Can i install it.

You came at a good time. The best thing to do is a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04. The Sputnik team has done a good job of upstreaming their contributions. What that means is that their changes are already in the stock Ubuntu 16.04 installation.

The Dell recovery image creator application encountered an error during the Ubuntu setup, but let me proceed without creating an image. The Ubuntu installer encountered an error during initial setup. After rebooting it automatically logged into the OEM account, but the account I created during setup was also present.I again tried to use the Dell recovery image creator tool, but it still encountered an error. To resolve this issue, I updated the installed packages. After about 400MB of updates, the issue with the Dell utility was resolved, and I managed to create a recovery image.Once I had a recovery image safely stored on an external drive, I proceeded to install Ubuntu Gnome from a USB thumb drive.

Hi I've seen your encouraging posts re fresh installing 16.04. However many people in this forum are reporting pbs with erratic trackpad, displayport, screen flickering, USB-C etc. after installing 16.04 either on XPS or Precision. Did you experience any of these ?

I have not experienced those, but I have a 9343 so maybe that explains things.
