PERC S300 Driver for Windows SBS 2011 and Microsoft Hyper-V 2016

Hello guys!

I can´t find the right driver to install Windows SBS 2011 and Microsoft Hyper V - 2016 on a PowerEdge T110 II.

I´ve tried and no success.

https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER98589M/9/DELL_MULTI-DEVICE_A06_R300048.exe
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER93604M/10/DELL_MULTI-DEVICE_A05_R294488.exe

Anyone knows where I can find the right driver to Windows 2011 and Hyper-V 2016?

thanks in advance.

Are you talking about installing Hyper-V 2016, then running SBS as a VM?

You can't install 2012 or later on an S100 or S300. You wouldn't want to anyway, because the S-series controllers are garbage, but they are also not compatible.

Remove the S300 and disable the onboard S100 and use Windows-managed RAID, OR get an H200.

Just make sure all your system firmware is up to date.

No, Ive tried to install both... SBS 2011 and Hyper-V as way to avoid the driver on SBS.

There are no Windows versions that have S-series controller drivers built in. You will need to add them no matter the OS you choose.

You CAN'T install anything 2012 or newer! Your only option, if you insist on using the S300, is to use this driver (the second one you listed):

https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER93604M/10/DELL_MULTI-DEVICE_A05_R294488.exe

You MUST extract the files before use!

You MUST also configure the disks BEFORE installing the OS.

What happens when you try?

I still would recommend you remove S300, disable S100, and manage RAID using Windows Disk Management. No good can come from using the S-series controllers.

I´ve created the virtual disk

Tried to install Windows SBS 2011 and it asks me for the controller driver.
The same happens when I try to install Hyper-V 2016.

Once I copy the drivers of PERC S300 into a USB it shows to me when I connect on the server and try to use it. But it says it´s not compatible.

The driver was released after SP1 ... you'll probably need to use media with SP1.

The oldest driver I could find with a quick search is below, but still is older than SP1:

Does your media contain SP1?
