Dell Power vault MD3600i SAS 4TB to 8TB compatibility.
Hello,
We have Powervault MD3600i with 8*2TB hard drive configured in single LUN and we are considering to buy new hard drives to expand its capacity
We recently came across this model : http://www.seagate.com/fr/fr/internal-hard-drives/enterprise-hard-drives/hdd/enterprise-capacity-3-5-hdd/#specs
It's any vender sas 4TB to 8TB hard drive support.
We were wondering if current firmware could support such disks and if not is it planned in a future firmware version?

Hello Nayeem_amsad,
Here is the link to the support matrix and if you look on pare 26-28 there are some 8TB drives listed that are support using firmware 08.20.21.60. http://downloads.dell.com/manuals/common/32xx_36xx_supportmatrix_en%20us.pdf
As far as the drive that you provided in the link if the drives don’t have a dell part# on them and match the support matrix then the drive is not support & in most case will not work in an MD3600i.
