Installing GTX 1080 on Dell XPS 8900
I am looking to install the "MSI Computer GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G NVIDIA GeForce" on my Dell XPS 8900. I would be upgrading the power supply as well. I have checked that the card can physically fit in the case, but does anyone know if the 2 are actually compatible? Could there be any issues that I'm not thinking of? Will the motherboard reject it for any reason?

Only issue may be that Secure boot may need to be turned off CSM and LEGACY to ON because bios certificates for the card may not exist. This has been an issue with cards since UEFI windows 8.0 and carries forward to 8.1 and 10. If the certificate is in bios then its not an issue.

Note: Some system SBIOS's incorporate a feature called compatibility boot. These systems will detect a non-UEFI-enabled firmware VBIOS and allow the user to disable secure boot and then proceed with a compatibility boot. If the system contains a system SBIOS the supports compatibility boot, the user will need to disable secure boot when asked during boot process.

The B500 does not have sufficent power on the 3.3v/5v rails of 150W.
New Power Supply must be 750B1 or G1 Not B2 BQ G2
I recommend EVGA EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B1 110-B1-0750-VR version. B2 G2 models do not work.

In my XPS 8900, I have a G3 650w by EVGA which fits perfectly. All the screws line up the way it's suppose to. I also have a Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Rock edition in it as well. Kinda of overkill for my 1080p monitor but that's going to be the next upgrade. Still researching which monitor I want can get for the best price.
