Dell Inspiron 7720
I would like to join this discussion ,I also have a Dell Inspiron laptop 7720 that has a BIOS issue. I have read many issues with this on this great forum,looks like there are some very knowledgeable people here and my hope is that I may get an answer to my particular issue.
If i try to boot computer it brings me to
Boot mode is set to: UEFI:Secure Boot:on
Windows Boot Manager
I can get to BIOS in setup and verion is A16,everything on that page is highlighted in Blue . I enter Boot in setup and
Boot priority Order
UEIF Boot and secure boot is enabled.
Legacy option disabled
Boot lis option UEFI
Add Boot is blue - can"t access it.
If I can figure out how to add photos I will.but basically what happens is if I try to change Boot order it comes up with a screen that has a password hint.I contacted Dell support and after spending some hard earned cash they gave me a password to install and made me purchase a USB software stick to reload OS Win 8.1. All that said and done , still nothing worked.I was told that they can't help me.So what do I do here , use it as a boat anchor or is there a fix,I was told BIOS has to be re flashed but it won't boot to a usb stick or any other device.I was also told maybe it needs a new BIOS chip but I think it may be something in the NAVRAM . Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

You can add pictures by using the rich formatting.
If you use F12 during boot, do you see an entry for Windows Boot Manager and can you select it? It sounds like you are looking on the wrong page to set the Boot priority but perhaps the pictures will make that clear.

Ok , sorry totally lost here, new to this sort of thing. I have files on this site of the computer screen and I also tried to insert from my computer.No luck, seems that the photos I have are too large to post and I am not sure how to change them. I did try the html as suggested but maybe I am just dense could not insert again because of size restrictions. On another note I just hear back from the computer tech and he is lost, another chunk of change lost to this laptop.Will pick it up later . How can I share the files on this site that I already have in my files here if possible.Thanks

I see entry but I cannot select and do anything.If I select it it just blinks but does not change to another screen.Is there a key sequence that would change it to another menu. Shouldn't dell technical support have been able to get me past that ?
