Dell XPS 15 9560 + TB16 thunderbolt dock 240W

Hi guys,

i have a new Dell Xps 15 9560 and TB16 thunderbolt dock. Everything works great, except.... If TB16 is connected to the laptop, it's impossible to shut down the computer. Instead of powering down, laptop restarts. When TB16 not connected, laptop shuts down perfectly. How to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Just disable "Wake on Dell USB-C Dock" in BIOS unter Power Management -> USB Wake Support. You have to use the boot button on the TB16 then to boot your laptop.

Hi oojaa,

Thanks for posting.

Might check to see that the drivers are up to date.  Here is some information you may find helpful: http://dell.to/2mSBbKk

I have this exact issue. It happened after updating to the most recent Bios. Perhaps rolling back the bios? On a side note, my TB16 does a lot of fan ramping, does yours?

I have all my drivers up to date. Also last version of the bios, i updated everything when my laptop arrived. Dock fan work as normal for me, not much noise?

I've just gone from Bios 1.1.3 back to 1.0.3 and it's working well again. I guess I'll have to wait for the next bios update and skip 1.1.3 as it seems to cause issues with the TB16. Here's the download link for previous bios's: downloads.dell.com/.../xps-15-9560-laptop.html
