No audio output device installed Dell XPS8900
Had to reset PC due to windows errors and after restarting now get "no audio output device installed. When reinstalling Windows what file or program went away that I need to reinstall to get it back, Dell XPS 8900

Did the XPS 8900 ship with an added PCIe x1 sound card or is it using the onboard Realtek sound? Check your invoice for details. When you reinstalled Windows, did you then install all Chipset drivers and the Audio driver?

Did you go into the BIOS and make sure Audio is enabled?

Using Realtek sound. All chipset drivers and Audio driver installed.

Using realtek sound. no additional sound cards. chipsets installed first then audio. have removed and reinstalled audio several times with no change in problem
