Dell XPS 13 9343 Running QHD : Mini Display Port
Dear Dell Community,
I have a Dell Monitor U2713HM Resolution 2560 X 1440. And a XPS 13 9343. Can anybody advise what the Max resolution for the Mini Display Port is ? I seem to only be able to extract only 1920 X 1280.
Thanks
Les

The mini displayport can do 4K output on that model. What input to the monitor are you using (i.e.,is this a native minidisplayport to displayport connection, or are you converting to DVI, HDMI, etc.)?

I tried a Mini Display Port to HDMI cable. Is there a suggestion on the preferred solution? I purchased the cable in 2015 thinking it would have the bandwidth, could there be a chance the cable is limiting the throughput?

Great thanks for that info. In terms of future proofing, would you know if it is it better to get a Mini display port to Display port of Min Display port to HDMI. At some point it would be nice to upgrade my second monitor

Yes, it's very possible. If you want to run that resolution, it would be better to use a native displayport cable. Otherwise, it may be possible using a high quality cable such as an Apple DP to HDMI cable.
