Dell 17R-5720 Headphone Socket / Board Part Number?

Hi Guys,

The audio / headphone jack on my Dell 17R- 5720 has broken and the extra movement in the port causes the audio to cut in and out.

Does anyone know the part number for this specific socket or audio board?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Speedsurfer,

The headphone / Mic jack is on the motherboard. If you want to replace the jack then you need to replace the complete motherboard.

Depending on your current system configuration and OS installed, the part number can be provided.

Please click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number so that I can check.

Hello. Some Dell models have the audio jacks on separate circuit boards, but as Akshatha said, on your model the jacks are integrated on the MB. I don't know of anyone who supplies the jacks by part number. The usual source is to remove the jacks from a salvaged MB.

You could get headphone functionality back by getting an inexpensive usb audio jack, but when you want audio to go to the laptop's speakers you would still have the cutting out issue.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just have to try bodge it!
