venue 11 pro 7140 wifi driver install failure
I bought a used venue 11 pro 7140 running windows 10, Service Tag: ADMIN REMOVED -TOS VIOLATION Upon sleeping the wifi would fail. I tried fixing this by going to intel and downloading/installing the lastest driver for the AC 7265 wifi. And then the wifi did not work at all. I uninstalled this driver and the wifi device disappeared from device manager and I have been unable to get it back. Scanning for new hardware in device manager does not find any wifi device. I did a reset of windows 10 wiping all installed software and user data with no change.
I went to Dell the diagnostics and ran a network test. It tells me the ethernet is fine (using a dock) but doesn't look at the wifi at all. I did the automatic driver update and it did not find the wifi driver. I manually downloaded the file Network_Driver_PX32H_WN32_18.40.0.9_A19 but running it fails with the following log file:

ToddAllen,
Install the chipset drivers first and then install the Wireless drivers.

Jesse, thanks for responding. I previously attempted to auto update all drivers through the Dell support webpage. I think it attempted to update 4 drivers (but not the wifi) and all succeeded except for one something like "chipset - memcard reader" which failed without an obvious means of telling why it failed. I then proceeded to manually search for and attempt installing the wifi driver which failed as I previously posted.
Yesterday night I went back to the intel website and started trying to install their drivers for the AC 7265 wifi. I started first with the latest Wireless_19.20.3_PROSet64_Win10 which claimed to successfully install but the wifi device never appeared in device manager or anywhere else, not even after a reboot. So I started trying older ones and eventually had success with Wireless_18.33.0_Driver64_Win10 and now again have the wifi adapter working.
I'd like to try installing the latest driver from Dell again though I'm a little hesitant afraid of again getting stuck in a bad state that I still don't understand. But if you will continue to be available to provide guidance I'll follow suggestions and give it another go.

Would it help shutting down windows and going into the BIOS disabling wifi there. And after rebooting and shutting down windows again, re-enabling wifi again.
