OptiPlex 7050 MT cannot recongized Toshiba OCZ RD400 M.2 PCIe 256GB SSD

We plugged in a Toshbiba OCZ RD400 M.2 256GB PCIe SSD to the newly purchased OptiPlex 7050 MT.  The BIOS can't recongize that SSD.  Even upgraded BIOS from 1.3.5 to 1.3.7, the SSD still cannot be recongized.

Attached below are the photos of the SSD and the BIOS screenshot.  I hide the service tag and express service code.  Please let me know if you need this info to follow this case.

Or if that SSD is not supported, please let me know if other brand like Samsung 960 EVO 256GB is supported.  Thanks.

Hi there, I did not find a lot regarding this drive working. But I would try changing the system to AHCI and then temporarily disconnecting the other hard drive just to see if the BIOS recognizes the M.2 drive. Are you planning to have the SSD become the boot drive?

Let me know if you have any luck with this.

Best regards,

Brad

Hi Brad.  We tried to change the system to AHCI before but the M.2 slot still showing none.  Yes, we want to set the SSD as boot drive.

Btw, may I know if yo have any experience in using any non-Dell branded M.2 SSD in OptiPlex 7050 which can be recognized?  Thanks.

Sorry for the delay, did you have any luck with this? Any chance you tried having it as the only drive connected?

If you're still having trouble, I can try to ask around. I would think it should work but I haven't personally tried it on this system. Looking at other models though the M.2 seems to function with non-Dell drives.

Best regards,

Hi Brad,

Actually we tried with that Toshiba M.2 SSD alone without plugged in the hard drive and the optical drive before I started this post.  So even only that M.2 connected, it can't be shown in the BIOS.

We currently have that SSD on hand only.  It would be good if you can try other non-Dell M.2 SSD drive and share any info with us.  Thanks!
