Touchpad mouse buttons

I have a Inspiron 1500, model 3558, with a touchpad oddity. Only about the leftmost ½" of the mouse button acts as a left mouse click. The rest of the button acts as a right click. Since I left-click probably 100 times as often as I right-click, this is very inconvenient. Dell Tech Support was completely useless when I called in. Does anyone know how to adjust this setting, if it is adjustable?

You could try reloading the driver for the 3558 touchpad here and then try checking the settings using touchpad properties, but I am not aware of any settings that could change this.

On your system do you currently have warranty? It might be that the palmrest needs to be replaced.
