Inspiron 15R 5537 - LAN Ethernet Driver doesn't work

Hello Colleagues!

As you can see, I have an Inspiron 15R 5537, which I used to use to run Windows 8.1. Recently I've updated for Windows 10 HOME 64bits. Everything is running fine, except the cable ethernet driver. I've tried Realtek 8105/8106E LAN driver (recommended in Dell support website for my computer), without success. Then, reading some foruns, tried a couple of different drivers, no success at all.

The computer doesn't recognize the cable connection when put it inside. Seems like the driver is dead... The thing is it was running fine in Windows 8.1.

Do you have any recommendations for fixing this issue?

Thank you in advance!

Check the device manager - is there an entry for the wired Ethernet port, and does it show a properly loaded driver?

If it does, and you still don't get a connection, try a new Ethernet cable and/or a different port in your router to rule out a bad cable or port.

Hi PAULOHENRIQUEFG,

Is the ethernet adapter detected in device manager under network adapters? Is the port loose - when you plug the cable in, does it stay in firm or does it fall off easily?

Restart the system and press f2 on startup to enter BIOS - check if the Integrated NIC is enabled in BIOS.

Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/2mH3tUb- restart and check.

Force the BIOS update if required - http://dell.to/2h9shSO- kindly read the entire article thoroughly before you force the BIOS update.

Connect another ethernet cable and check.

Restart and check in safe mode with networking - http://bit.ly/1LHcO2c

Enable the built in admin account and check - http://bit.ly/2gX7qE7

Also, please click my DELL-username and write me a private message with the service tag and your contact details(Name and Email) for case records.

Let us know if you have any other queries.
