Dell Inspiron 15 i5558: plugged in, not charging
I have a "Dell Inspiron 15 i5558-5718SLV Signature Edition Laptop", and when i plug in with the power adapter, the system comes with a message unknown adapter and during the boot, and the battery does not charge at all. the battery icon would have a message : "Plugged in, But not charging"....
I have tried with a new adapter, new battery, the issue still is there. What would think the problem could be ?

Next most common cause is a bad DC jack - replace this part:
www.parts-people.com/index.php
If that doesn't solve the issue, the mainboard is bad.

The computer is brand new or less than 1 year old? Does the LED indictor on AC adapter lite up? The light should be solid green or blue. Does the computer runs without the adapter or run only on battery power? Please try the steps in link below to troubleshoot the AC adapter.
