3D graphics hanging the system on XPS 13 9360 Developer Edition.
Just got my new XPS 13 Developer edition, the 9360 model (2016 New) with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Intel HD Graphics 620.
I did an apt update & upgrade, then installed Steam and tried else heart.break(), Brütal Legend and Hotline Miami. After a few minutes the whole system hangs when playing either of the games.
I downloaded intel-graphics-update-tool and when it did its apt update, it can't access dell.archive.canonical.com and aborts. Removed it from apt's sources and it could update the drivers, but the result is the same, the systems hangs after a few minutes with 3D graphics.
Anything else I could do to try to make the system usable?
I've not been using 3D graphics on Linux for the last seven years, is this how bad it is?

Now that dell.archive... is up again, I downgraded from intel's updates and then updated with dell.archive... again. No change however.
Nothing else to try?

I tried that now.
After the first try the wifi stopped working for some reason. Did a second restore, then the wifi worked again...
I changed the settings to install the processor's microcode firmware, then ran the graphical Ubuntu software update program (don't know the correct English name, I'm running with Swedish locate) and installed the first updates (system updates?). dpkg got stuck halfway through, since it didn't bring up a prompt to ask for my password to the encrypted home partition. Killed aptd and cleaned it up on the command line.
Installed firefox, steam and glmark2, ran glmark2 with --fullscreen. It ran through all benchmarks once, the second time I ran it, the laptop hung (no blinking caps lock).
Then I did apt update & upgrade on the command line, entered the password more times than I hope to enter it for the rest of the year, rebooted and tried again. glmark2 crashed the computer on the first run this time.
Anything else I should try?

I've looked there, but found no suggestions. On other places I've found the suggestion to change the distribution.
I find it a bit strange though that a brand new, premium priced, laptop from Dell does not work with the provided software as delivered. I can understand that things break after updates, I know that there will be bugs in corner cases, but here we have a system where I've yet to find a single, non-trivial, OpenGL application that works for more than a few minutes.
