UP3216Q, GTX 1080, 10 bit color depth
Hello,
I just buy the UP3216Q and I plugged in and look at display settings I see that is only 8 bit color depth and I can't change it. My computer is recently new:
CPU i7-6950x
Motherboard: Asus X99 Delux II
GPU x2: GTX MSI 1080 Sea Hawk (No SLI) (latest driver installed)
I'm currently using HDMI 2.0; resolution and refresh rate are fine (3840x2160, 60hz). I have no DVD reader so I downloaded the driver (DELL_UP3216Q_MONITOR_A00_00_DRVR_08J8M) and installed it. I changed the display color to Adobe RGB. The monitor was purchased in Amazon from DELL seller. Why this is happening? Is because I need to install or adjust correct settings? please let me know how to set the monitor in 10 bits.

Hi Javier,
Unfortunately the GTX 1080 will not support 10 bit directly if you're using it for Professional apps (like Adobe Photoshop etc). In order to get 10 bit support like that you would need to purchase an Nvidia Quadro card or an AMD FirePro card. With that said, you should still be able to get 10 bit working for DirectX/D3D and should see a 10 bit option in the Nvidia Control Panel, this would be different than the normal display settings that Windows uses (but again, this would only work for gaming and not for professional use).
If you go to MSI's site there should be an explanation on how to at least get 10 bit working for games. I do know the option exists in the Nvidia control panel though, here's a non-Dell endorsed video that at least will show what the menu looks like.

Hello Brad!
thanks for the reply. The problem is whenever I go into "Nvidia Control Panel" and I try to change the color display depth I can't choose 10 bit.
I attach an screen shoot where you can see that I only have 8bpc option available.
Maybe some missing driver?, or the HDMI 2.0 don't allow that?

Hi Javier,
Thanks for the image, and you're right this is where the 10 bit option should be. I know you're using HDMI 2.0 on the card but have you enabled it on the monitor as well? If HDMI 2.0 is already enabled in the monitor menu-display and you're still not having luck I would next try using display port instead, here is a link on the Nvidia forums discussing this (I know this link is older but it at least confirms GTX users having luck with 10 bit on display port). Once you have enabled 10 bit you will be able to use it in games at least, unfortunately unless you get a Quadro/FirePro card you will not be able to use 10 bit in Adobe apps (as I mentioned).

thanks for the reply, these days I have been investigating about the problem and It seems that Quadro (and I am assuming that GTX has the same limitation) only displays 10 bit using Display port connection. And what a bad luck that my monitor has come without the Display port cable. Amazon customer service are going to replace my monitor for this little issue...Right I can't do more investigation until the replacement has been done. I will update this post with any updates as soon as I fix this.
Second I am looking to purchase a quadro for using it as a display. I know that quadro and gtx can work together, Nvidia don't give official support thought.
