"Now supports adding drivers to the restored image"

In the release notes for the latest IA version, there is a bullet point for "Now supports adding drivers to the restored image".  I haven't been able to find anything that explains this.  I'm curious as to how this works.

Thank you.

Will,

Apologies for the confusion. The new feature allows for drivers which are not included in our packs to be dynamically injected from a folder on the USB drive. It is described in the following post.

http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/f/4916/t/19637349

On ImageAssist USB Drive: If including drivers on the USB drive, create a folder named "__Additional_Drivers_Restore_OS__" and extract additional drivers needed. If this folder exists on the root of the USB key, any files there will be copied to the “Out-of-Box Drivers" directory on the Windows partition and injected by the Restore tool DISM driver injection process.

The other options mentioned in the article are not new.

Thank you,

Tyler

Hello Will,

have you created the DIA USB thumb drive from the Image Assist application once this is completed you will download the drivers for the computer you want to restore the image towards. you will download the drivers and copy them to the DIA USB thumb drive in the Dell local driver folder do not rename or unzip just copy, then take the thumb drive and boot to the computer by pressing F12 select thumb drive. DIA opens up then select restore point to your capture image and wait about 15 20 min it will apply the image and inject the drivers

for more help please email US_OSImaging@Dell.com

I know that's the standard function for having drivers installed when restoring an IA image.  This bullet point makes it look like there's an extra functionality when it comes to drivers.
