Purchase X51 motherboard
Hello,
I have recently purchased a second hand Alienware X51, on start up it does 1 beep, I have already replaced the CPU and RAM with ones that I know are fine.
I was wondering if it is possible to purchase a replacement motherboard from Dell? Also would it be possible to fit a X51 R2 motherboard in my X51?
Kind Regards

I used the same CPU it used originally, a INTEL CORE I3-3220
It still does the beeping at startup.
Where do I purchase the motherboards from? Do I just phone Dell sales?

What CPU did you put in the X51?
And yes, you can upgrade to the R2 motherboard. But you'll need a different CPU, one of Haswell.

Did the seller ever mention any damages to the motherboard of the computer?
You could buy an R2 mobo from ebay. It might be possible through Dell, but maybe not for the R2. Maybe a rep can answer better.

The sellers said "Can be temperamental upon startup so may need a CPU replacement." It's dead, but I knew I was taking a chance.
I think I've found a motherboard on ebay, I think I might go ahead and by one as I think that will sort the problem.
