Alienware 17 R3 Graphics card (980M 8GB) not working. Please Help!

I have the AW17R3 with 8GB GTX 980M, 16GB Ram and 1TB HDD.

I managed to install all the drivers and update windows to the anniversary edition, but my GTX 980M doesn't seem to work. I installed the latest drivers from the geforce website, but device manager always shows an exclamation mark next to the 980M card. The error code shown is 43. The nvidia control panel doesn't show up in the right click menu. I tried to install driver version 372.90.

On contrast to this, the Intel HD graphics works nice and all the other components are working perfectly. I bought this laptop as it has the 980M .

Please help.

Hello.

Does it say beside the exclamation marks "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems"?

If it does there's a good chance your GTX980 is faulty.

Are there any other yellow bangs beside any of the other devices?

Yes it does. Exactly as you said. "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)". There are no other yellow bangs. All the other devices are working perfectly. It's only the 980M which is giving me trouble.

If it were to be faulty, how should I go about fixing it?
