Problem with keyboard configuration (Alienware 18)
Was going to add a DXDiag, but can't find the attachment button...anyhow, I'm having a bit of a problem with my Alienware 18, but since I've never really had to configure my keyboard before I'm not sure how to fix it. My problem right now is simple: If I'm holding more than one key at once and press another key, it doesn't register. I.e. if I'm holding the right arrow and the 'S' key, and press D, the computer does not register that I pressed it. Is there a way to fix this?

design limit of windows operating system. I have the 18 now, and had an M18 6 months ago. Same OS, and the 3 keys worked fine...it's a side scroller. Using the mouse isn't really an option.

That is called Key Ghosting. There are only so many keyboard scan-lines.
I don't think that 3-key-combo is supported:

However, if I may suggest (I play FPS and RPG also) ... setup keys for left hand only. Use the mouse (and buttons on it) for the right hand. Nothing would be assigned to Arrow Keys.

For completeness of this thread, let me post these as well:
Dell knows about problem. They build these "gaming laptops" only as good as required (meets needs of 90% of customers) and still hit a price point. Oh, and then they build a chart.

Thanks for explaining it at least. I'm thrilled that a USB keyboard would work, but if I had (or wanted to use) one of those, I probably would've bought a desktop in the first place. Oh well.
