Alienware 14, Idle Screen Malfunction after Nvidia Driver Update
I'm posting because I have the exact same problem that this poster described:en.community.dell.com/.../19609547
"I can run game games perfectly fine but everytime my computer goes idle, the bottom have of the screen goes black and the other half gets blurry (like watching a blurry channel on tv)".
This also started for me after the latest nvidia driver update, and since rolling the update back I haven't had the problem. But of course I don't know if it will return, and I want to update my driver which noticeable improved some programs! I also want to understand just what's going on with my screen because going through a process to have it replaced would be a tremendous inconvenience since I left the packaging and insurance boxed up at home before moving overseas.
The customer support on that post said that it required a screen replacement. But can that really be the case when it appears to be connected to a nvidia update and stops when that update is rolled back? What's going on here?

Are you able to see the blurry half if you connect an external monitor?

I'm not able to test that in my current living situation, I'm living overseas and my warranty has less than three months remaining, so I'd like to know if it really needs repairs while at the same time it would be costly and hugely inconvenient.
When the error occurs (when left on the idle screen) things would go back to normal after doing a hard restart.
Also there have been no problems at all since rolling back the latest Nvidia GeForce update.

Then there is a problem with the stability of the driver you are installing. I will recommend you to stay with the one you find in the Dell website or the one you were using before the upgrade.
