Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery never installed

Hi guys,

I have bought my first Dell, an Inspirion 17 5767, 3 weeks ago.

My device results in the devices list for SupportAssist OS Recovery

http://www.dell.com/support/manuals/it/it/itbsdt1/dell-supportassist-pcs-tablets/sosrsm/supported-dell-inspiron-systems?guid=guid-5e61764e-a287-4732-a6dc-1c1d8ca9aecc&lang=en-us

Seems a very good software for managing images and backups etc...

I have trouble to run it.

And in my BIOS I have the option enabled for SupportAssist OS Recovery.

I have noticed that SupportAssist OS Recovery is missed on my device; in the notebook isn't installed the SupportAssist Remediation service....

In the drivers & download page I can't find this package software download ...

I have contacted support and they didn't help me to find this software, they talked about using WinRE for any restore etc... But I want use SupportAssist OS Recovery!

Why DELL didn't installed the software in my device??? And how can I resolve this problem???

Someone can help me find the software??

thanks

As far as I know its not actually software you can download but its in the UEFI/BIOS.  When you hit F12 like you want to select a different disk to boot or go into BIOS, there should be an option to use it.

Support Assist is for older windows versions up to 8.1. It's not for windows 10. There is a Dell Help and Support App in the drivers and download list, but that is most likely already installed. See this site--

Have you got back the option? I have the same problem as yours, and I can see there is a 15Gb hidden recovery partition in my hdd!

Please, let me know if you have solved.

They now have an OS recovery tool.

View requirements and full instructions

What you will need

  • Service Tag of the Dell PC on which you want to install Microsoft Windows or Linux
  • Download and install Dell OS Recovery Tool (runs in Microsoft Windows only)
  • Blank USB flash drive 16GB or 32GB
  • Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.2 or higher
  • Administrator user rights and at least 16GB of available storage space to download the Dell ISO recovery image.  (All data on the drive will be erased)

I use the Dell OS Recovery Tool to install an USB Drive. My Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming is Booting from the USB-Drive but can´t lunch the Restore System Mode. It is saying: This process is not supported on your system. What could I do? Thanks for help.
