Dell XPS13 ubuntu : delete EFI paritions, / not use UEFI ? what are the consequences

Hi there !

On my XPS13 (9370), I have 2 partitions nvme0n1p1 (fat32 /boot/efi ESP) & nvme0n1p2  (fat32 OS)

No idea how it is use and what for ?

I was wondering if it is possible, and with which advantages/issues to just disable UEFI in BIOS and remove thos partitions to set only "/".

My idea behind is that I think it may improve boot time:

/$ systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 9.772s (firmware) + 5.898s (loader) + 3.120s (kernel) + 1.514s (userspace) = 20.306s
graphical.target reached after 1.278s in userspace

But I'm noob with UEFI, so I wonder if I will break something and/or make some future stuff impossible, like maybe bios update etc...

The EFI partition is required for UEFI booting.  UEFI tends to boot faster than Legacy BIOS, and it also allows you to use things like Secure Boot (if your Linux distro supports it) and to use GPT disks, which in addition to being a more resilient setup than the older MBR layout allows more than 4 partitions on the disk if you ever want them.  However, even if you wanted to switch to Legacy BIOS, which if anything would increase your boot time or at best leave it unchanged, you'd also have to reinstall everything from scratch because UEFI systems boot from GPT disks, whereas Legacy BIOS systems need MBR disks.

I have no idea what the FAT32 OS partition is.
