SA, latest version not working

I downloaded the latest version of SA (Support Assist) (Version 2) a few days ago. When I try to open it, it tries to load but won't load properly (icon just continues to flash and flash), with a message that optimization tools are loading.

The same problem occurs when I try to open it as administrator. There is no option to repair this app when I go to Settings. The only 2 options are "modify" or "uninstall"

This new version of Support Assist is installed on both my XPS 8930.

Is any body else having a problem with this latest version? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I tried every suggestion on the forum. Nothing has worked. I deleted the support folder after uninstalling supportassist.  Support assist has stopped working on 3 of my dell computers.  I do feel like it was after the windows 10 update.  After trying the fixes the support update now will not open when I click on it.

It makes no sense to me, but changing that file name worked.  Astounding.  Thanks for the tip.

I too have the same problem in my DELL 7373 Windows 10 laptop. I have just brought it two months back.

Its quite disgusting.

I am not able to download any updated or drivers and the reminder keeps appearing.

I have been having the same issue for the last few weeks, on both my Dell Win7 machine and Dell Win10 machine.  I just spent 90 minutes with a Dell support person working on my Win7 machine.  He uninstalled SupportAssist and reinstalled it twice but it still won't run and he had to give up.  He said he'd heard development were aware and are working on it.  Sounds like a Windows update broke it really badly.

I contacted Dell here in UK on0800 028 2660.

I allowed remote access to my laptop and it was

sorted.OK now.

I have the same problem.  And unless a missed a response from Dell, they don't seem interested in providing a solution unless you contact them directly.

I uninstalled it and downloaded a copy from dell.com. Now works fine.

Obviously Dell has a problem. My Alienware desktop has a pop up that an update is available but it doesn't open.

Deleted it all from my system. Who wants updates from such useless fools? You're more likely to brick your machine than improve anything.

This has been happening way too long.  It's deaf and dumb when run from the Desktop, and even this week, the dell.com/support site still gets in a loop.  'Checking system to see if it's installed', which takes way too long, then it wants to download another instance.  When that runs, it reports that you already had the latest version.  It won't download the recommended drivers automatically, it sits at 0% progress forever, but I gave up on Dull Computers fixing it any time soon.  I tried all of the 3 major PC browsers, and they all behave the same.  I thought it might be a firewall issue, but the StupidASSist program doesn't even show up as an app to allow.  SUGGESTION:  Use the web-site to detect the Service Tag, or enter it manually, then download drivers individually, one by one, which [still] works.  (Scroll down, past the lame Detection process, to see a list of the most current firmware and hardware drivers, after the model has been identified, in the Drivers and Updates section, third on the list on the left side.)  It seems that MS is run by 20-somethings now, who haven't a clue about the past, and Dull is staffed by out-sourced monkeys.  It is possible that it's something about Win10 and locked-off LAN environments, too.  [BTW:  sometimes OEMs roll-back drivers to previous versions, so ignore that '...is newer than the one you are installing' alert from Windows.  Newer doesn't always mean it's better, or more compatible.]
