disabling popup blockers

please could someone tell me how to disable my popup blocker so i can use a certain messenger i want to use!!  i have tried for like an hour and i cant find anything on my computer that even has popup blocker in the name.  im about to throw this friggin thing through the wall.  thankyou

Without knowing which popup blocker you're using, and which Web browser you're using it with, your question cannot be answered. You mention "a certain messenger". Which one are you wanting to use, and how does it relate to popup blockers?

i want to use the match.com messenger.  i have norton antivirus and spybot but went into those and shut off the ad blocker but it didnt do anything.  i have a dell dimension 4500.  please help.  im so bad at this stuff.  thankyou so much for responding.

I'm not having much luck figuring out how match.com's messenger works. It's possible that it has problems similar to MSN's messenger when it's running on a machine that's connected to the Internet through a router. Is that the way your network connection is set up, or is your PC directly connected to a cable or DSL modem?

Have you tried contacting match.com support about the problem? They're likely to be a better source of help, since they know how their messenger works.
