XPS 15 9560 Update fail Intel HD Graphics and Realtek HD Aud

I am experiencing a very frustrating problem installing two updates, one critical, one recommended, no matter what method I try to use to install them. I have tried the Dell SupportAssist tool, the Dell Command|Update tool, and the Dell Drivers and Downloads website, multiple times to no avail. Does anyone have any advice for getting the Intel HD Graphics and Realtek HD Audio updates to successfully install? My notebook is an XPS 15 9560 running Windows 10.

Are you updating Dell drivers or generic or Windows 10 drivers? Dell updates are Dell specific drivers which won't install over non Dell drivers. Sometimes you have to go into Device Manager and uninstall current drivers for the hardware you want to update driver for. Then reboot disconnecting internet and then install the drivers one by one. Its a mess for sure, I've been happy just using Windows 10 drivers and not Dell's. I also installed the Intel graphics driver because it was a lot newer then the Dell one. Best of luck to you!

It might be caused by the fact that either you don't need those updates or you already have them. Support Assist can be wrong and many times is wrong. Forcing incorrect upgrades can brick your computer. Let the Dell driver web site's scan check your computer. For instance the video update is for Intel HD Gfx GT2 Driver. Check Device Manager to see if you even have that.

Thanks, Mary, I am taking your advice. When I go into Device Manager and manually update each of the drivers, a search always returns that I already have the latest/newest driver installed. I think I am getting too stressed out over the failure to update in the Dell tools.

Thanks, John. I suspect that the precursor to my current dilemma is one of my own making. I may have, along the way, updated some drivers in Device Manager, and then been surprised when the Dell tools didn't update them. I appreciate you taking the time to help.
