Issues with XPS15 9570

Hi, I just got an XPS15 9570 and installed Linux -- it works well in general, but there's a few issues:

  • The touchscreen doesn't work (screen works, but doesn't register touch events)
  • The power button doesn't work (no event registered at all on short press)
  • The fingerprint sensor doesn't work
  • The system freezes when rebooting
  • The CPU overheats very quickly (try building a kernel to watch it slow to a crawl). This might of course not be fixable given the small case doesn't have enough space for a strong enough fan.
  • Dimming the backlight doesn't work (I see the popups showing the brightness bar change - but the brightness itself remains constant). This is very likely a BIOS bug (I'm using BIOS 1.5.0) -- dmesg says:
[Wed Nov 28 01:23:37 2018] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve [\_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP.BRT6.LCD], AE_NOT_FOUND (20181003/psargs-330)

    [Wed Nov 28 01:23:37 2018] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \EV5, AE_NOT_FOUND (20181003/psparse-516)
    [Wed Nov 28 01:23:37 2018] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \SMEE, AE_NOT_FOUND (20181003/psparse-516)
    [Wed Nov 28 01:23:37 2018] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \SMIE, AE_NOT_FOUND (20181003/psparse-516)
    [Wed Nov 28 01:23:37 2018] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \NEVT, AE_NOT_FOUND (20181003/psparse-516)
    [Wed Nov 28 01:23:37 2018] ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed \_SB.PCI0.LPCB.ECDV._Q66, AE_NOT_FOUND (20181003/psparse-516)

Other than that (nothing I can't live with), everything is working well so far. I'm a developer and I'd like to fix those problems -- but of course I don't want to duplicate work that has already been done. Are there any known fixes (or pointers to protocol docs etc.) for those problems (and maybe others I haven't noticed yet)?

With current kernels, the touchscreen started working and the freeze on reboot went from 100% to occasional. The other issues remain for now.
