Centralized PowerPath Monitoring

Hi all,

Some time last year, EMC said it was working on a tool called POWERPATH VIEWER for Centralized PowerPath Management.

The tool should apparently become available somewhere in 2010, but I am unable to find it...

Where can I download POWERPATH VIEWER, or has the project died somewhere down the line?!?

I found the following qoute in Google's cache somewhere, about a session given by EMC:

What's New in 2011

This session provides an overview of PowerPath multipathing and the PowerPath features to be made available in 2011, including PowerPath Viewer for centralized monitoring, alerting, and inspection of PowerPath Windows, Linux, and VMware environments, PowerPath/VE for VMware releases, and new PowerPath Migration Enabler features as well as other new capabilities.

Hi Mark,

Great News!

How can I become part of the beta testing and participate in the controlled release of PowerPath Viewer?

We have an urgent need to install moniotring in our environment.

Thanks for your answer!

With kind regards

Fred

Fred,

PowerPath monitoring is in controlled release for Windows with a few customers for feedback with additional operating system support and a broader release in the works.

Best regards,

Mark

Fred,

Nominations need to be worked through your local EMC account team.

Good news, wish it will be released soon, i was trying to use SCOM with PP but it can only submit an alerts for dead paths. no "PP errors" or "degradation" alerts were included in the managment pack.
