Can't Browse File System from a different CIFS server

Hi, i'm no expert so forgive me if I am wrong. Once the file system has been created, do you not need to share it out to a CIFS server? Are both CIFS servers avaliable on the same DM? If you go to the share preferences you are trying to access and tick the second CIFS server it should share it out via the cifs server even using c$?

Also double check you are an administrator on the local users and groups MMC of the particular CIFS server? Let me know if you need to know how to get to it..

For browsing the administrative c$ share you need to be a domain administrator or a local administrator of the CIFS Server. So if your domain account is working on \\TEST1, please check the local administrator group of \\CAVA and add your domain account to the group of the local administrators.

Every CIFS Server has its own local administrator group, so compare the group of \\TEST1 against the local administrator group of \\CAVA

Besides as far as I know CAVA/CEE doesn’t use C$ - it uses CHECK$ plus some magic (probably Backup Operator privilege) so that it can open files that would otherwise be denied

The magic is not the Backup Operator privilege, but the "EMC virus checking" right, which the AV user needs to have to access all files.
