Troubleshooting done so far:

I completely removed the zones, deleted the storage group and deregistered the host.  I had the AIX administrator rescan and ensure that no Clariion luns are presented.  I then reactivated the zones and reregistered the host.  I confirmed that the LUNZ device was showing up on the host.  I then recreated the storage group and presented the four luns to the storage group.

I worked with the system administrator to delete the LUNZ device using Primus article emc111635 run a cfgmgr and then an inq, and the results are below:

/dev/rhdisk29      :DGC     :RAID 5          :3033  :0A0000B0   :      -----

/dev/rhdisk30      :DGC     :RAID 5          :3033  :0B0000B0   :      -----

I can see that you have loaded the Symmetrix ODM filesets, but can you also check that you have also loaded the equivalent ones for CLARiiON? Sorry I don't have access to an AIX system to confirm their actual names.

Dynamox,

there is a lun at host Id 0.  Should I remove the four luns from the storage group, have the admin rescan and remove the dead paths, add in the 1GB lun, and the original four luns?

No,  before I added the luns to the storage group the only thing showing up on the host was the LUNZ device.  I then added the four luns to the storage group and the admin ran cfgmgr.  He only saw three DGC devices at that point, so following EMC primus article emc111635 I had the admin remove the lunz device.  Once that was done he ran another cfgmgr, and then four devices showed up but this is what they look like after a cfgmgr and an inq on the host

/dev/rhdisk29      :DGC     :RAID 5          :3033  :0A0000B0   :      -----

/dev/rhdisk30      :DGC     :RAID 5          :3033  :0B0000B0   :      -----

/dev/rhdisk31      :DGC     :RAID 5          :3033  :0C0000B8   :      -----

/dev/rhdisk37      :DGC     :RAID 5          :3033  :0D0000BD   :      -----

EMC has just completed analysis of the SP collects and have confirmed that everything on the array is configured coreclty and is functioning properly, they are now analyzing the EMC grabs.

You need to install the following from the EMC ODM..

  EMC.CLARiiON.aix.rte       5.3.0.2    C     F    EMC CLARiiON AIX Support

  EMC.CLARiiON.fcp.rte       5.3.0.2    C     F    EMC CLARiiON FCP Support

Or use the list ,,,, see below..

Step 6) Use List function to select one or more of the following:

EMC CLARiiON AIX Support Software; Standard utility support.

EMC CLARiiON FCP Support Software; IBM Fibre Channel driver support.(Supports PowerPath)
