VNX -- MetaLun include system drives (vault)
Hi All,
To VNX, is it any drawbacks when apply a metaLun from the system drives and other RAID groups? And, is there any limitation on forming the metaLun invloving the system drives?
Many Thanks,
Derek

Hi Derek,
It is recommended not to use Vault drives for any activities., But if the Vault drives are high capacity drives and if you are concern about the space utilization then you can use those drives., However, avoid vault drive LUNs for high performance applications

Hi Suman,
Thanks so much for your help.
Actually, i am concern about the space utilization, so I need to bind a LUN at Vault drives, and use the LUN at Vault drives with other LUNs to form a metaLun.

I understand your concern. Performance, Availability and Capacity is the key measurement in storage enviornment.
However, when you refer to space utilization, it depends on what is your priority?
Performance or Space/Capacity Utilization!
