Host Path Failure Alerts in Prosphere
Hi All,
Does prosphere have the capabilty of alerting/reporting when a host to storage path fails(due to any reason like faulty HBA, bad cable, bad GBIC etc)
Does enabling the path performance for discovered hosts give us notifications on availbale paths from the host?
Thanks

Hi Sanquest
No, Path performance collection is a process by which you collect performance data for a selected host or a group of hosts and other elements on the host I/O paths, including switches in the fabrics to which the host is connected and arrays connected to those fabrics. Review ProSphere help for more details on Path performance collection

Have you considered SCA, it has a capability to send a notifications when paths are lost.

No, we have not considered SCA.
I think that would solve our purpose...
