GeoDrive Simple Question
What's difference about "Local Storage Options" between:
1. Mirror all content to the cloud. Maintain.....
2. Replace recently un-accessed files with a stub file that points to full copy of the data in the cloud.
What does #2 mean?

Hi Andrew. Local Storage Option #2 means that when a file has not been recently accessed, GeoDrive will replace the local copy with a stub file which points to the stored file in the cloud. The local GeoDrive client will then have only a stub file which points to the file in the cloud which has the content. The stub file requires a very small amount of local storage regardless of how big the file is in the cloud. The default access time for stubbing is 1 day, meaning a new file is stubbed out after 1 day of no access.

In order to access your stubbed file you will need a connection to your Atmos storage cloud

Andrew,
This setting means that if files placed into GeoDrive are not accessed with a given time period (as defined under settings > advanced settings in your GeoDrive) a stub or pointer will be placed locally and the content will be placed into your Atmos cloud storage.
You can think of it like a time based archive.

The other way around. If you go from mirror to stub the local file size will be reduced.
If you go from stub to mirror the local stub will remain unchanged until the file is accessed again. once the file is accessed it will be a full copy. think of mirror as 1:1 in file size between local and cloud storage.

Thanks for your answer. Now I know that the stub means "pointer".
Another question. When I change the setting from "stub" to "mirror", the local file size will become smaller?
