We just upgraded

You should be able to push the upgrade to most clients via Avamar Enterprise Manager (https://GridFQDN/em/) as long as the installed version of the Avamar client is at least 6.0.  Note this is not supported for Microsoft Windows Cluster (MSCS) clients.  Test a few clients before pushing the update out to all clients.  Most of the clients should update successfully via this process however there always seems to be a few which don't cooperate.  See chapter 20 "Avamar Client Manager" (p. 491) of the Avamar Administration Guide available from support.emc.com.

Hi, Joe....aren't you guys facing issue with the upgraded version (6.1.1-87). I heard it has issues like hfscheck failing, multiple backups also failing plus issues with vmware image based restoration.

Please let me know if these things persists in your environment.

Version 6.1.1-87 is currently the most widely deployed version of the Avamar software, at least on the server side. I work quite closely with the support team and I have not heard of an increase in SR volume for the issues you've mentioned.

I agree with ianderson.  We have discovered our fair share (and then some) of Avamar issues but I don't think there are meaningful advantages to not upgrading.  I would upgrade if any of the new features or fixes would be of use in your environment.

Well......Found out how to upgrade the clients!

Downloaded the Client installers files and put them in the repo dir....

then logged into the EM then klicked on upgrade...

Now I need the installers file for the previous version!
