setup privileged user

Hi all,

I can need some help right now.

I have to setup monitoring using the SCOM management Pack.

One of the prerequisites is to setup a privileged user, so I can build a monitoring station.

How do I setup a privileged user... Is there a good set of instructions available for that? I can find some community articles about it, but none of it does the trick for me.

If anyone can write down the procedure for me, I might be helped a lot.

Regards,

Bart

Are you referring to setting up a privileged user for EMC Ionix Center (Control Center) to manage EMC CLARiiON?

Hi,

I have to setup a monitoring station to use SCOM for event monitoring... I need to create a privileged user so I can assign a monitoring template and sending alerts to the Windows event log of the monitoring station.

Using a SCOM management Pack all events will be shown in the SCOM management interface.

IONIX Center doesn't ring a bell for me...

I am asssuming here when you say you are using SCOM Management Pack that you are configuring: Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 server using EMC Smarts Adapter for SCOM 2007.

If yes, then this would be the procedure:

-. Configure the service to log on as something other than the local system account (SYSTEM). The selected account must exist on both the adapter host and the SCOM host. To create the account, do the following:

1. Create a Global Security Group in Active Directory (Global or Domain Local).

2. Add the adapter's account to that group.

3. Add this group to an Administrator profile in SCOM.

IONIX is nothing but EMC Control Center.

No Events found!
