CX4 sense cable issue
Hello,
A sense cable(between SPS and SP) issue is detected in SpCollect, do you think the solution is to just change it ? If yes, is there a precaution to take
for a production array ?

I’ve seen this a few times unfortunately. Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable sometimes helps as well. Precautions? I guess there are none. Nobody touches the cable and still this happens occasionally. In 8 years or so I’ve seen this maybe 4 or 5 times.

Are you referring to Status: Cabling Status Unknown?
If yes, you can try reseating the Sense Cable and check if SPS Shows Present.
If not, you may replace the Sense cable and monitor for any SPS related issues.
That should resolve your issue. If not, please update the discussion accordingly.

Have this issue and we tested with both cables on A and after on B. On A is working and on B we still get the error.
Might be something else ?
Equipment is EMC Clariion CX4-5.

I'm guessing that this is an AX4-5 and not a CX4-5 (there is no CX4-5 model). On the AX4-5 each Storage Processor has a connector for the SPS cable. If both cables work correctly on SPA but not on SPB, they you may have an issue with the circuitry on SPB. The replacement model for AX4-5 is to replace the SPB module.

Hello Glen,
Sry. Is a CX4-240. Was an error typing. We have AX too but we never had
issues with them.
The error appears 3 month ago and was first on one SPS and after few days
on the second one too.
We replaced both SPS two weeks ago and still have this problem.
After we replaced both SPS at start we had the same error on both but at a
moment one switched and was ok. The other one still have the error.
I am thinking the same that might be the processor module but i hope will
be not. Is really hard to change it because this model is absolete.
Thank you,
Daniel

Restart both Management Servers one at a time, and 5 minutes apart (this is to let each SP to fully come back up before restarting the other SP).
Using the "IP_Address_SPx/setup" GUI, open the setup page on BOTH Storage Processors (use two browsers - one for SPA and one for DPB):
Go to the Restart Management Server section on each SP, then restart on SPA and wait for for it to finish - refresh the browser) , then do the same for SPB.
See below KB article for help if needed.
