Fiber Channel cable color codes
Guys, I know Aqua fiber channel cables are 10G. What is the speed for the Purple (violet) fiber cables. And does anyone have a doc that shows the different fiber channel color codes and their respective specifications?

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "Infrastructure Connectivity Support Forum".

From what I understand, while you are spot on about the rated capability of the Aqua cable, as for Violet (or Violet with black tracer) it defines a position within a multi-fiber cable with the aggregate being rated. However, I also do acknowledge that resellers are selling Violet as (individual) patch cables. I've seen different ratings for Violet from different resellers though.
Let's see what others suggest.
In the meantime, while I'm certain you already reviewed it but for reference:

Hi,
In the case of color aqua, it does not necesarily imply a 10G speed. That color usually informs that the fiber cable is OM3 (which is the one to use at 10G if we want to get a decent distance). But I suppose that we could achieve such speed with one of the orange ones, but the lenght of the cable will be very small.
When it comes to color violet, it is often used to identify OM4 cables.
