How to find a used capacity of a lun(Sym Device) without going to the Host.

Hi

Is there is any SMYCLI Command which gives the amount of storage that is used for each LUN(used capacity)  whether it is thin or thick Lun without going to the HOST where is lun is allocated.

I am trying to see whether is there is any new SMYCLI Commands give me the used capacity of a lun.

Thanks

Naren

symdev list can only provide total capacity of symmdevice. As file system deleted file through only remove the metadate which is not aware from storage side.

For used capacity. You can only use symcfg show -pool for looking at the Used Tracks of data device. For thin or thick symm device with present to your host. Only host side command can be used to check the used capacity.

Symcli output cant be trusted to see how much data host has written (in case of tdev) and yes there is no way to check on the thick device as Fenglin said.
