Networker BMR windows 2012

Hi,

I am trying to do a Bare Metal recovery of a Windows 2012 Server, The server only has one drive, c: when I do the recovery I see a lot of savesets, VSS SYSTEM SERVICES, VSS SYSTEM FILESET, VSS SYSTEM BOOT, AS WELL AS THE C:

I only have on disk, how will the recovery handle the savesets? will they all be receovered the the one disk?

MY recovery always fails at the "creating VSS File System" phase?

Anybody have more info regarding this receovery?

Thanks

The error I see in the logs is

"ERROR: Failed to initialize VSS recover, error=0x%x: %s Invalid XML Document passed: it is either not a correctly formed XML string or it does not match the schema."

NMM 2.4.1?  Does that really support win2k12?  I would hold my breath even if it says it does.  The proper BMR for win2k12 would need to be done with NW8 (as since you would use NMM 3.x it would not be used as it acts as module only).

Hi,

I am testing the recovery in a VM, so the two are identical, Ill try and increase the disk on the recovery VM.

Running 8.0.1.5

From the error it means that the machine that you are trying to recovery does not have the similar specs as the machine that was backed up. The first part of the restore is where NetWorker recovers the XML which contains the schema of the original machine and compares it to the existing machine. if they are not similar it would fail.

You might have to ensure that they are similar number of disks on the machine with similar or more capacity.

Out of Curiosity, which version of NetWorker have you got installed here ?
