Power Path/ME Question

Can you use Power Path Migration Enabler to migrate RDMs on VMs?  I would rather avoid any downtime while the data migration occurs and I've used this a lot on physical servers with luns attached but never tried with VMs and RDMs.  Can it be done?  We are going from a CX4-120 to a VNX5500.  Even though we have SANCOPY i want to avoid downtime.

I meant to say if I install Power Path with Migration Enabler on a VM that has an RDM attached, can I use PPME to migrate the data from the current RDM to a new RDM use Power Path ME installed on the VM.

From your message above, it's not clear whether you mean to migrate the LUNs from the Guest OS (within the VM) or at the ESX layer.

If you have PowerPath installed on the Guest, you could potentially do it.  However, if want to use PPME:

So, PPME at the ESX layer is not supported.  Your best bet will be to use Storage vMotion for a brief, but unavoidable, downtime.

Let us know if this helps!
