Feature request VNX File directory size limit 65,533

Can this be increased to 100k like netapp? We switched over from netapp to emc and when doing the migration we didn't know that the Subdirectory has a lower limit than Netapp which made our internal application fail. We had to switch back to Netapp.

I am pretty sure it is hard-coded and cannot be changed via parameter.

If you are asking for a product enhancement / feature request than a forum isn’t the right place

in case you are wondering why

each inode in uxfs has a 16-bit field to map a parent directory to its sub-directories

the only thing you could to is to use some symbolic links that point to other dirs instead of real subdirs
