NDMP backup of Clustered ontap fails to back a volume

Hi,

I have a Networker v 8.2 server running Win2012. I have 2 Jukeboxes connected IBM TS3200-LTO-6. I can take succesfull backups of my Windows servers.

I now want to backup a volume (FAS) of a Clustered ONTAP running V 8.2.1.

I have specified as saveset /data1 as as the path of that volume on the Netapp filer. I have setup the NDMP client on the Legato server using the cluster (not a node) and using the cluster NIC.

When i start the group with just that 1 client, i get the following error:

42619: nsrndmp_save: unable to look up volume ... missing (vserver, vol name) in volume name in the application event viewer of Win dows...

In Networker, it says "ready for writing" after having mounted a tape and than nothing happens anymore ?

Please advise how to proceed.

Best regards,

Johan

Don't you think ssid should be called /vol/ / ?

Hi,

I first tried that as well.

On my other Networker server where i backup a non-clustered ONTAP 7-mode, i have as saveset in networker: /vol/HOME1 and that works fine. But on this netapp i see /vol/HOME as the path of the volume HOME. On the clustered netapp, i see as path /data1 and not /vol/data1.

Dont' know what to do.

Other ideas ?

Rgds,

Johan

I do all backups over qtree... while I run OnTap8, it is in 7mode so it might be different.  I derive my list for backup from qtree status command.

Have you tried to include the SVM Name in the Path of the Saveset.

/ /data1
