How to make a ViPR report relating ESX hosts to array ports
My workplace is implementing ViPR SRM and I'm hoping it can produce a report to help me with the following project:
I have a bunch of ESXi hosts and I'm required to make sure that each host can see its LUN's through at least four different front-end ports on every array where it has any LUN's. (And I'm sure it would also be good to verify that each host is using at least two of its HBA ports if it isn't too much extra hassle.) It won't be good enough just to count the SCSI paths between a host and an array; for example, if a host has two different HBA ports zoned and masked to a single front-end port over SAN Fabric A and two different HBA ports zoned and masked to a single front-end port over Fabric B, this makes four SCSI paths but it only uses two front-end ports, which is not satisfactory.
So, does anyone happen to know whether ViPR SRM can produce a report that meets this exact need? Thank you!

Rather than a specific report, take a look at the Compliance Solution Pack. It's purpose is to monitor your environment for configurations that differ from best practices as well as business rules. When the Compliance engine detects a "breach" it will generate an alert and those are viewable in the Breach Report and can also be forwarded to via SNMP Trap, Syslog, Email, etc.
Default rules are included when you install the Compliance SolutionPack and you can edit them. You can enable/disable each rule independently to limit it down to what you care about.
I've attached an example of some rules that are related to the specific problem you were asking about. These are just a few of the rules available.
