Unity 400 One SP working 3 times more than the other

Hello.,

We have been using our Unity 400 more and more, block side is behind Vplex and the File side is just a replication target for other Unitys 300 in our remote offices. Since I have been moving more data to the Block side using Mobility jobs in Vplex, I have been keeping an eye to Unity resources such as CPU capacity and so on. I have noticed that for some reason one of the SP is working way more than the other, there are some points where SP-B CPU utilization is 78% while SP-A is only around 20% CPU utilization. Should I worry? How can I make both SP to work more even?

I tried to check if the LUNs in the block side are evenly spread across both SP and as far as I can see, they are, I did this manually because I don't know if there is any type of SP collect report in Unity where I can see configuration in a spreadsheet. Do you know how can I list the LUNs and see whom they belong to?

This is a physical Unity.

Any suggestion will be more than welcome.

We have just started Unity deployments (500F & 350 AFA) and we are seeing a differnece in utiliztion on the SP's with zero workload.  One SP on the 350 is consistently 10% higher and when you upgrade the OE you can see this ghost workload move to the other SP.

The 500 shows same but not to the same magnitude (2-3%).

Anyone know what this ghost workload is?

We have brand new 350 AFA with nothing configured and this is present.

Control Station likely, only active on 1 SP at a time, and can move from one to the other if needed during an upgrade or failover event.  Just a guess.

Just like I you run top on a linux box top itself is usually a process that'll keep popping up, or same with process manager / task manager on a windows server.  The act of monitoring performance, costs performance.

could be the management services (ECOM)

they only run on one SP at a time

could also be some other internal process that gives away if there is other CPU usage like sniffer

I wouldnt worry about just a 10% difference
