Network requirement for EMC scaleio VMware deployment

Hello!

You will need IPs on 1Gb ethernet networks for the following things, generally:

• Server BMC  (hardware management)
• ESX management
• SVM (ScaleIO Virtual Machine) management interface

You will also need, for the data network, the following on redundant 10Gb Ethernet networks (same vSwitches):

• SVM 2 IPs
  • One for each network, generally private IPs, dedicated vlans.  Not required, but best practice,
• ESX 2 IPs
  • One for each network.

And, obviously, each of your host VMs will need access to those same Data Networks, generally with the same # of IPs: 1 management, two data.
